I'm joining in on the fun of Eight Sentence Sunday started by the Weekend Writing Warriors.
Here's eight sentences from my book Wicked Seduction which will hopefully be available sometime next year. It is the sequel to my regency romance book Wicked Designs which will be available from Samhain January 2014.
In Wicked Seduction- The notorious rogue Lucien meets his match with the quiet, intellectual, but passionate Horatia- the younger sister of his close friend. She's the one woman who is off-limits and the only one he's ever wanted. Here in this scene he's upset because he kissed Horatia and he's gone home to escape her temptation.

Lucien,
anger still boiling deep in his body like a dormant volcano, was poised to
throw the vase, this time at his meddlesome sibling.
Lawrence seemed to
note his brother’s displeasure at his sudden appearance and realized he might
become the new target of his brother’s anger. “If you break that, mother will
be upset. You know she spent a fortune getting that back from Shanghai for you.
I heard she hired an entire caravan of elephants like Hannibal, just to get it
halfway here.” Lawrence grinned as though enjoying chiding his elder brother
for his bad mood.
With a gruff snarl
Lucien set the vase back down on the cherry wood side table and glowered at his
brother.
“I thought you
were in France.” Lucien’s tone was still rough with anger.
Let me know what you think!
I loved it. Can't wait to read the rest. Tweeted.

DeleteI LOVE IT! I love my heroes seething with emotion so that it brims off the pages! (And PS, Lucien is one of my favorite Regency names!)
ReplyDeleteThanks Christi! I love the name Lucien too!
DeleteWhat a great excerpt! And I love the byplay between the brothers!
ReplyDeleteOh Louisa, you have no idea...let's just say by the end of the book, Lucien's three younger brothers all attempt to seduce the heroine in order to get Lucien jealous enough to act and compromise her so he can get her for himself. It's wickedly delicious!
DeleteLauren, you know I love your stories!!
